This vintage necklace has twelve real wild boar tusks. They are strung on hard, natural seed pods. Every part is natural. The curved tusks have aged to a warm cream. The seed pods have turned dark with time.
The tusks range from one to three inches long. The necklace is about 23 to 24 inches long. It closes with a knot. The original string is intact.
It is believed to be at least 75 years old. It may be older. Wear on the tusks and the dark pods point to its age. The seed pods are hard shelled and tropical. The exact culture of origin is not known.
Wild boar tusks are not ivory. Every material is legal to own and sell in the United States.
The condition is good. Some beads show wear from age, as the photos show. This is reflected in the price.
