Twelve genuine wild boar tusks. Curved, aged to a deep, warm cream, strung on hard, natural seed pods that have darkened beautifully over time. Every element is natural. Every element is intentional.
The tusks range from one inch to three inches. The wear on them and the deep darkening of the seed pods speak to considerable age. This piece is believed to be at least 75 years old. Quite possibly older. The seed pods are hard-shelled, tropical, consistent with traditional adornment across many cultures. The exact cultural origin has not been confirmed. We will not pretend otherwise. Due to its age and natural sources, not all beads are in pristine shape, which is reflected in the photos and in the price.
Wild boar tusks are not ivory. Every material in this necklace is fully legal to own and sell in the United States. The necklace measures approximately 23 to 24 inches, finished with a knotted closure. The original string is intact.
